The Abhidhamma is about a wholesome mind, that is, the mind that arises from a mind that is wholesome. But the wholesome mind is able to arise; it requires various factors as constituent causes. Due to the mind is a natural state that has the dominant nature in acknowledging the feelings. When a mind arises, it must acknowledge some feeling which is appropriate for the mind. For examples, the mind that arises through the eyes must have an emotional colour called rūpāramana (visible object); the mind that arises through the ears must have an emotional sound called saddāramana; and the mind that arises through the nose must have an emotional smell called gandhāramana.
