EAP REGIONAL HUBS NETWORK

EAP is working with a network of regional hubs to co-create and deliver a series of online and onsite training opportunities for institutions, researchers, archivists, librarians and anyone interested in protecting archival material at risk.

To date, EAP has set up five regional EAP hubs across the globe, which serve as a focal point for regional outreach and training tailored to each region’s needs and interests:

 

EAP webinars and events

To date, we have organised workshops in collections care, conservation, digitisation and digital preservation across all hubs and we have also organised webinars on how to apply to EAP, audio preservation, cataloguing and metadata.

EAP Caribbean Hub: Introduction to EAP on 5 February 2024 at 9:30 am Jamaica time

Our inaugural webinar with the University of the West Indies Mona will be an opportunity to learn about EAP, hear from previous EAP grant holders in the Caribbean and learn about existing resources and future training events in digitisation. EAP African Hub: Introduction to EAP in French on 22 February 2024 at 13:00 UK time

EAP South Asian Hub: Collections Care workshop on 13-15 March 2024

Held at the School of Cultural Texts and Records at Jadavpur University in Kolkata, this workshop is aimed at all the professional figures working in archives and libraries and will cover the main risk agents to the integrity collections, and how to act to reduce their deterioration. The workshop will looking at document handling, monitoring the environment pest management and the benefits of protecting collection items with the correct enclosure. No prior conservation knowledge is required. To apply please complete this application form by 26 January 2024.

EAP Caribbean Hub: Digitisation workshop on 20-22 March 2024

Held at the University of the West Indies Mona Campus, this workshop will cover topics such as equipment choices and options, digitisation studio set-up, image capture, image processing and post-processing. Workshop participants will get an opportunity to capture collection items and receive a list of recommended equipment and other learning resources.
