The content tells about Velama Sutta, the results of almsgiving on different individuals and the story of Velama Brahmin. On one occasion, the Buddha was staying at the Jetavana monastery in Savatthi. At the time, the Buddha spoke to Anathapindika, the rich man about Velama Brahmin. Once upon a time, the Bodhisattva was born Velama Brahmin who donated the great gifts, each 84,000 including gold trays, silver trays, bronze trays, elephants, charots, cows, girls, thrones and cloths. The almsgiving of the Brahmin was a great almsgiving. Giving alms with respect, with humility, giving with one's own hands, giving what is not left, believing in karma and the results of giving alms, that alms is very effective. The almsgiving with noble individuals will get much deferent rewards. Colophon: Folio 24 on the recto side: Chunlasangkatrasa (CS) 1218, a hwai si year on the twelfth day of the waning moon of the fourth lunar month, the first day of the week (Sunday), a kat sai day, the writing was accomplished at the time of tut sai (between 12.00–13.30 o’clock). Sao Kongkaeo and her husband, Chantha together with all their children had the most ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Pitaka (Buddhist Canon) to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May both of us, husband and wife and children achieve our wishes and desires. May we all meet the Teachings of the Buddha. May we reach the three states of happiness that are happiness in the human world, happiness in the heavenly realm and the supreme bliss that is Niravana. On the other hand, may both of us, husband and have wisdom quickly understand the three Dhamma of the Buddha. May all our wishes and desires come true certainly and certainly.
