The content tells about the performance of Yamaka Patihariya (The miracle of the double appearances) of the Buddha. When the Buddha laid down a rule forbidding the exercise of supernatural powers by monks - following on the miracle performed by Pindola Bhāradvāja - the heretics went about saying that henceforth they would perform with the Buddha. King Bimbisāra reported this to the Buddha, who at once accepted the challenge, explaining that the rule was for his disciples and did not apply to himself. The Buddha, therefore, went to Savatthi, the place where all Buddhas perform the miracle. The miracle was performed on the mango tree on the full moon day of Asālha [in July]. This was in the seventh year after the Enlightenment. Colophon: Folio 25 on the recto side: Sangkat 76 (corresponding with CS 1076), a kap sanga year, on the full moon day of the eleventh lunar month, Monday. [Ms] Tum and her husband had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Vohan Thammabot (Oratory Dhammapada), to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years.
