The story tells the story of the Bodhisattva when he was born a poor man named Viriyapandita who had his wife named Susada and a child named Revatta. One day, Viriyapabdita sold his child and wife to a wealthy family in exchange for money to buy gold leaves. He used the gold leaves to cover the Buddha image according to his wish. Colophon: Folio 25 on the recto side: Sangkat 196 (corresponding with CS 1196), a kap sanga year, on the first day of the waxing moon of the ninth lunar month, the third day of the week (Tuesday), a kap chai day, the writing of this manuscript was accomplished at the time of tut sai (between 12.00–13.30 o’clock). Phra Rasakhu Chao Vat Saen (Abbot of Vat Saen Temple) had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled 50 Sat (50 Existences), to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. Nibbāna paccayo [hotu] (May this be a condition to reach Nirvana).
