The story of Princess Rohini. On one occasion, while residing at the Nigrodharama monastery, the Buddha spoke this verse with reference to Princess Rohini. Princess Rohini, sister of Venerable Anuruddha was suffering from leprosy. The Venerable told her that this is the results from evil deed must be solved by giving alms. So he suggested her to build a refectory for monks. Princess Rohini followed the Venerable’s advice. When the construction of the refectory had finisged, she donated the refectory along with food to monks presided over by the Buddha. The Buddha preached a sermon described the results of her previous evil deed. At the end of the discourse, the princess attained sotapati fruition, and at the same time her skin disease disappeared, and her complexion became fair, amooth, and very attractive. Colophon: Folio 25 on the recto side: Chunlasangkatrasa 196 (corresponding with CS 1196), a kap sanga year, the second day of the waning moon of the tenth lunar month, the sixth day of the week (Friday), a kat hao day, the writing was accomplished at the time of thae kai kham (between 15.00-16.30 o’clock). Chao Maha Phutthavongsa Viraya[pan]nya from Vat Phonsaiyaramathipadi had the most ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript [entitled] Thammapattha, to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May wishes and desires come true. May this be a condition for us to reach Nibbāna. Amen, amen!.
