Dhammapada story of King Pasenadi Kosala. On one occasion, while residing at the Jetavana monastery, the Buddha spoke to monks about King Pasenadi Kosala that is the cause of this discourse. At the time, King Pasenadi Kosala had meal with the food he liked too much until he had suffering. So he went to the present of the Buddha. When the Buddha realized the cause, therefore, the Buddha gave advice to the king about the moderation in eating. Colophon: Folio 25 on the recto side: Chunlasangkatrasa 196 (corresponding with CS 1196), a kap sanga year, the second day of the waning moon of the tenth lunar month, the sixth day of the week (Friday), a kat hao day, the writing was accomplished at the time of thae kai kham (between 15.00-16.30 o’clock). Chao Maha Phutthavongsa Viraya[pan]nya from Vat Phonsaiyaramathipadi had the most ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript [entitled] Thammapattha, to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May wishes and desires come true. May this be a condition for us to reach Nibbāna. Amen, amen!.
