On one occasion, while residing at the Jetavana monastery, the Buddha spoke to monks about a Brahmin that is the cause of this discourse. In Savatthi, there was a Brahmin who had false view and was not faithful in the Buddha’s teachings. He also blamed at the Buddha. One day, the Brahmin came to the Jetavana monastery. The Buddhs thus spent this opportunity to preach a sermon to him. At the end of the discourse, the Brahmin attained Sota Fruition. Chao Maha Phutthavongsa Viraya[pan]nya from Vat Phonsaiyaramathipadi had the most ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript [entitled] Thammapattha, to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May this be a condition for us to reach Nibbāna. Amen, amen!.
