The content tells Temiya Jataka is the first story of 10 stories from the Ten Existences. In the Temiya Jataka, the Bodhisattva performed Nekkhamma that is renunciation. The Temiya Jataka tells the Bodhisattva was encouraged by Indra to be born as the son of King Kasikarat of Varanasi, named Temiya Kumara or Teme. When he was eleven months old, he saw his father severely punishing the thief. He remembered that he was once a king, reigning for 20 years. After death, he had to be born in hell for eighty thousand years before he was born in Tavatimsa heaven. He was afraid that he would succeed his father as king and punish those who did wrong and then go to hell again. Therefore, he pretended to be lame, deaf, and dumb, causing him to be accused of being kalakini (unfortunate). At the age of 16, he was about to be buried in a cemetery. Therefore, he showed himself that he was not lame and dumb. Later, he was ordained as an ascetic and observed the precepts in the forest. When his father, his mother, and the people knew, they followed him. After listening to his Dhamma preaching, they were faithful in him and asked to be ordained as well. After his death, he was reborn in the Brahma world. May this be happened to me every existence. May I meet the sage with morality and truth. May I be free from ruffians and patients with diseases. May the mistaken notion be appeared from my nature. May I obtain the magga and phala and arahanta and enter Nibbāna constantly and certainly.
