Once upon a time, the Bodhisattva was born as the son of the king of Varanasi, whose name was Ayogara Kumara. The father built an iron house for his son to live in in order to prevent the giantess from eating him. As there was a belief that two royal sons died when they were young because they were eaten by a giantess. Ayogara Kumara lived in the iron house for 16 years, he became bored in the house and saw the punishment of suffering, so he didn't want to live in the royal palace and thought to become an ascetic. So he told his father and mother to let them know, but they did not agree to let him became the ascetic. They wanted him to inherit the clan and keep the treasurea. But Ayogara Kumara still confirmed that he would like to go ascetic to seek the way out of suffering. Finally, he went ascetic. Later on, the king and queen and ministers followed.
