ມະທຸຣັດສະວາຫິນີ ( ຜູກ ໑)

ໃນກາລະນັ້ນຍັງມີວິຫານຫຼັງໜຶ່ງຢູ່ໃນປ່າ ມີຊື່ວ່າ ອຸດທະໂລຣະກະວິຫານ ໃນລະແວກອັນບໍ່ໃກ້ຈາກວິຫານນັ້ນ ເປັນທີ່ຢູ່ຂອງສັດປ່າທັງຫລາຍ ເຊັ່ນ ໝູປ່າ, ກວາງ ແລະຟານເປັນຕົ້ນ ວັນໜຶ່ງນາຍພານປ່າໄດ້ອອກມາແປງຊຸ່ມໃບໄມ້ຢູ່ໃກ້ກັບວິຫານຫຼັງນັ້ນ ເພື່ອລ່າເນື້ອ ໃນກາລະນັ້ນຍັງມີເນື້ອໂຕໜຶ່ງໄດ້ອອກມາກິນຫຍ້າຕາມປົກກະຕິ ໃນບໍລິເວນນັ້ນແລ້ວໄດ້ຍິນສຽງຄົນທັງຫລາຍປ່າວປະກາດຟັງພະທໍາມະເທດສະໜາ ເມື່ອນັ້ນມັນກໍ່ຍໍຫົວຂຶ້ນຟັງພະທໍາມະເທດສະໜາຈາກພະມະຫາເຖລະຢູ່ທີ່ນັ້ນ ນາຍພານປ່າຈຶ່ງໃສ່ທະນູຍິງ ຈົນເນື້ອໂຕນັ້ນຕາຍ ຄັ້ນຕາຍໄປແລ້ວກໍ່ໄດ້ໄປປະຕິສົນທິໃນທ້ອງຂອງນ້ອງສາວຂອງພະເຖລະອົງນັ້ນ. ເດືອນແລ້ວກໍ່ຄອດບຸດຊາຍອອກມາ ຈົນໃຫຍ່ຂຶ້ນໄດ້ ໗ ປີ ພໍ່ແມ່ກໍ່ພາກຸມມານນ້ອຍໄປສູ່ສໍານັກຂອງພະມະຫາເຖລະເຈົ້າຜູ້ເປັນລຸງ ແລະໄດ້ຮໍ່າຮຽນພະວິປັດສະນາ ແລະປະພຶດປະຕິບັດກໍ່າມັດຖານ ຈະເລີນເມດຕາ ພາວະນາ ຈົນໄດ້ບັນລຸເປັນພະອໍລະຫັນ. ຄໍາລົງທ້າຍ: ລານທີ່ ໓໑ ໜ້າ ໑: ພຸດທະສັງກາດຣາຊະໄດ້ ໒໔໘໘ ຕົວ ປີຮັບເຮົ້າ ເດືອນ ໙ ລົງ ໑໑ ຄໍ່າ ພໍ່າວ່າໄດ້ວັນ ໓ [ລິດຈະນາແລ້ວ]ຍາມກອງງາຍ ໝາຍມີ ສົມເດັດພະສັງຄະຣາດ ບຸນທັນ ວັດໃໝ່ ພ້ອມສິດໂຍມສ້າງຍັງ ມະທຸຣົດວາຫິນີ ມັດນີ້ມີ ໗ ຜູກ ໄວ້ຄໍ້າຊູສາສະໜາພະພຸດທະເຈົ້າຕາບຕໍ່ ໕ ພັນວັດສາ. ນິບພານະ ປັດຈະໂຍ ໂຫນຕຸ ໂນ.

Once in the past, there was a vihara (monastery) named Uddalorakavihara erecting in the forest. Not far from the vihara was the place of the animals such as boars, deers and barking deers. One day, a hunter made a hut near the vihara for hunting. At the time, an animal came to near the vihara for grazing, it heard the people announcing for listening to the dhamma preaching. It raised its head for listening to the preaching by a monk. The hunter shot it by his archery. When the animal died, it came to the womb of a woman who was a younger sister of the monk. Later, she gave birth to a son. When her son was seven years old, she took him to the uncle monk. Then the son was ordained as a novice and later a monk and attined arahatship. Colophon: Folio 31 on the recto side: Buddhist Era 2488, a hap hao year, the eleventh day of the waning moon of the ninth lunar month, and the third day of the week (Tuesday). [The writing of this manuscript] was accomplished at the time of the kòng ngai (between 7.30–9.00 o’clock). The Supreme Patriach Bunthan from Vat Mai together with his disciples and lay Buddhists sponsored the making of [this manuscript entitled] Mathurotvahini, there are seven fascicles in this bundle, to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May this be a condition for us to reach Nibbāna.
