ໃນສະໄໝພຸດທະການ ພະເຈົ້າພິມພິສານແຫ່ງເມືອງຣາຊະຄຶ ໄດ້ອາລາທະນານິມົນ ພະພຸດທະເຈົ້າພ້ອມດ້ວຍພິກຂຸໃຫ້ສະເດັດໄປປະທັບທີ່ສວນໄຜ່ຊື່ວ່າເວລຸວັນ ເມືອງຣາຊະຄຶ ແລ້ວຖວາຍທານ. ຕໍ່ມາ ພະອົງໄດ້ຖວາຍສວນໄມ້ໄຜ່ນັ້ນແກ່ພະພຸດທະເຈົ້າ ໃນສະຖານທີ່ນັ້ນມີມະຫາວິຫານ ບັນຈຸພະພິກຂຸໄດ້ ໑໐໐໐ ອົງ. ພະເຈົ້າພິມພິສານກໍ່ໄດ້ທໍາບຸນໃຫ້ທານທຸກວັນ. ຄືນໜຶ່ງ ໃນຂະນະທີ່ພະເຈົ້າພິມພິສານກໍາລັງຈະບັນທົມກໍໄດ້ຍິນສຽງອັນແປກປະຫລາດ ຮ້ອງໂຫຍຫວນ ພະອົງກໍ່ຕົກພະໄທ(ຕົກໃຈ) ເພາະບໍ່ເຄີຍໄດ້ຍິນສຽງແບບນີ້ມາກ່ອນ. ເມື່ອຕື່ນເຊົ້າ ກໍ່ສະເດັດໄປເຂົ້າເຝົ້າພະພຸດທະເຈົ້າແລະທູນຖາມພະພຸດທະອົງວ່າ “ເປັນສຽງອັນໃດທີ່ແປກປະຫລາດເມື່ອຄືນນີ້?” ພະພຸດທະອົງຈຶ່ງຕັດວ່າ ສຽງທີ່ໄດ້ຍິນນັ້ນ ເປັນສຽງຜີເຜດຂອງຍາດຕິພີ່ນ້ອງພະເຈົ້າພິມພິສານ ພະພຸດທະອົງຊົງເທດສະໜາແນະນໍາໃຫ້ພະເຈົ້າພິມພິສານຢາດນໍ້າ ອຸທິດສ່ວນບຸນ ສ່ວນກຸສົນໄປໃຫ້ຜີເຜດເຫລົ່ານັ້ນ ຈຶ່ງພົ້ນຈາກອັດຕະພາບຄວາມເປັນເຜດທັນທີ. ຄໍາລົງທ້າຍ: (໑) ລານທີ່ ໙ ໜ້າ ໒: ຈານສຸກ ເມືອງຫລວງ ຜູ້ຣິດຈະນາ ຂໍອໍານາດບຸນກຸສົນທໍາສ່ວນນີ້ຈົ່ງບັນດານໃຫ້ຂະນ້ອຍໄດ້ຮັບໜ້າທີ່ເກີດຢູ່ໃນສໍານັກພະເມດໄຕຍະເຈົ້າໃນຊາດໜ້ານີ້ແລ້ວ ຂໍໃຫ້ຂະນ້ອຍເຂົ້າໄປແຈ້ງເຖິງພະນິບພານກໍຂ້າເທີ້ນ ສາທຸ ສາທຸ. ໒) ລານທີ່ ໑໐ ໜ້າ ໑: ພຸດທະສັງກາດ ໒໕໑໒ (ກັດເຮົ້າ) ປີຮັບເຮົ້າ ເດືອນ ໘ ຖ້ວນ ໒ ຂື້ນ ໑ ຄໍ່າ ວັນ ໓ ໝາຍມີ ໝ່ອມປ້າຄໍາອ້ວນ ໄດ້ສ້າງໄວ້ກັບພຸດທະສາສະໜາ ໕໐໐໐ ວັດສາ ນິບພານະ ໂຫຕຸ ໂນ.
In the Buddha’s time, King Bimbisara built the monastery and abodes in his bamboo garden called Veluvana Rajgir city and offered the monastery and garden to the Buddha and monks. One night, while the king was sleeping heard strange noise which made him frieghtened. In the coming morning, the king asked the Buddha about the voice. The Buddha explained him that was the voice of spirits who were ever his relatives in the past existence. Later, the Buddha adviced the king to make merit and dedicate the results of merit to them. Colophons: (1) Folio 9 on the verso side: Chan (ex-monk) Suk Müng Luang is the scribe. May the results of this merit destine me to be born in the time of Ariya Mettey Buddha in my future life. May I attain Nibbāna. Amen, amen! (2) Folio 10 on the recto side: Buddhist Era (BE) 2512, (kat hao) a hap hao year, the first day of the waxing moon of the second eighth lunar month, the third day of the week (Tuesday). Mòmpa (Princess) Kham Uan sponsored the making of this manuscript, in order to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May this be a condition to reach Nibbāna.
