This volume contains letters written by the Governor of Sierra Leone between 1 January 1852 and 18 February 1853. The first page includes an index listing the schedules included in the volume, their page number, subject, and date. Letters from the Governor include the date, the place of writing, the number of the despatch, and the signature of the sender. Some pages consist of a schedule of despatches sent on a specific date and provide information on the number of the despatch, its date, the subject and on the number of enclosures. The volume is bound in red cloth boards. There is damage from iron gall, and some traces of water damage.
