The volume contains an index that lists despatches sent in the colony of Sierra Leone between 1881 and 1882. The document provides the number of the despatch, the date on which it was written, the subject and the number of enclosures. Despatches concern the state of the colony including police regulations, and registers of marriage. The despatches are not included in the document. The volume is bound in red cloth boards. There is damage caused by water and iron gall, and some traces of mould around the binding.
