Jujuy Varios V [1920s-1960s]

Description: This is the fifth envelope that the original collection had on the province of Jujuy. The elections in the province were fraudulent and its authorities responded to the Conservative Party that prospered around General Julio A. Roca. The latter founded the Secondary School for Teachers in 1888 under the direction of Juana Stevens and following the policy of creating schools in Argentina. On the other hand, the railway arrived in Jujuy in 1891 and was crucial for the economic development of the region. In this envelope, we count also with information of the different towns that were born amidst the poverty of the most arid regions of Jujuy. Extent and format of original material: This envelope contains the following 10 sub-envelopes and subjects: Elections, Badges, Schools, Exodus Anniversay, Railway, Frontiers, Escuela Normal (Secondary School for Teachers), Handicraft School, Textile Factores and Market.
