Buenos Aires Basura Carros Recolectores [1920s-1950s]

Description: This envelope describes the city garbage dump where refuse from all over Buenos Aires was taken by rail and cart. In 1911, it was moved to the south western limits of the city but with the growth of the city, garbage dumps multiplied. Unfortunately, the lower sectors of the urban inhabitants lived by these dumps without running water, sewages, drainage, lighting, or paved streets. See, Scobie, James, Buenos Aires.
