King Phommathat of Varanasi had a son whose name was the same name as him. The king had his queen named Khema. When Prince Phommathat was 16 years old, his father died. The prince succeeded his father as the king. Prince Phommathat had his left and right advisors named Chittasena and Phantasena. Later, Prince Phommathat and Chittasena went to Takkasila to study a subject of removing the mind. When they finished their studies, they returned Varanasi. But on the way, Chittasene betrayed, while the prince tried to take his mind off his body, Chittasena took his own mind into the body of the prince instead and returned to the city and lied to Queen Khema and other courtiers that he was Prince Phommathat. Later, Queen Khema and Panthasena caught that Chittasena betrayed, they tricked CHittasena to remove the original body and helped the prince to return to his body. One day, Queen Khema asked Prince Phommathat to teach her the spell, but he refused to teach her, so she was heartbroken.
