The text tells about the first Buddhist Council, the Sangha in the council invited Ananda Thera to recite the Suttanta Pitaka through the five collections and the seven volumes of the Abhidhamma. Then Ananda Thera said that the Sangha, please listen to me, I am reciting the Suttanta right now. If I make mistake, please remind me. Colophon: Folio 26 on the recto side: Sangkat (CS) 1270, a poek san year, on the ninth day of the waning moon of the tenth lunar month, the sixth day of the week (Friday), a hwai chai day, the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng ngai (between 7.30–9.00 o’clock). Sathu Khamvaen (Princess Khamvaen) had the ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Tatiya Sangkhānyanā (Third Buddhist Council) to dedicate to Sathu Buaraphan (Prince Buaraphan) who already died. Even if he has been stuck in a misery place, may he be moved a good place, definitely. May this be a condition for us to reach Nirvana constantly and certainly, the greatest bliss.
