On one occasion, the Buddha was residing at the Jetavana monastery in Savatthi. At the time, King Pasenadi approached the presence of the Buddha and asked the Buddha the differnce of the lifespans among the human beings and deities. Some have longevity, but some are short-lived. The Buddha gave a sermon said that our physical bodies are impermanent, it happened, staying, and vanishing accordance with the law of nature. Therefore, we should collect merit for the future lives. Chao Mòm (Monk) Phummi from Vat Xiang Thong, together with lay grandmother and all his siblings had the ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Thutangkhavat (Dhutangavatta) to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years.
