(໒) ລານທີ ໓໑ ໜ້າ ໑: ພຸດທະສັງກາດຣາຊະໄດ້ ໑໒໑໔ ຕົວ ປີເຕົ່າໃຈ້ ເດືອນ ໕ ແຮມ ໑໓ ຄໍ່າ ວັນ ໔ ມື້ກາເໝົ້າ ຣິດຈະນາແລ້ວຍາມກອງງາຍ ໝາຍມີ ທິດບຸນມາ ຜົວເມຍມີໃຈໃສສັດທາສ້າງ ໘ ໝື່ນ ໔ ພັນຂັນ ໄວ້ກັບສາສະໜາ ພະໂຄດົມເຈົ້າ ຕາບຕໍ່ເທົ້າ ໕ ພັນວັດສາ ນິບພານັງ ປະຣະມັງ ສຸກຂັງ.

The content tells about the renunciation of Prince Siddhartha. When Prince Siddhartha was 29 years old, one day he was going to the royal garden. On the way, he saw four signs including an old man, a sick man, a dead man, and a monk. Siddhartha felt so sad and finally decided to leave his kingdom and wordly life for ascetichood. Before leaving the castle, Siddhartha went quietly to see Rahula his newborn son and his wife, Yasodhara who were sleeping. It was midnight, and the prince was on his white horse Kanthaka with Channa, his faithful servant, holding on to its tail. He rode to the bank of the river Anoma and dismounted from his horse. The prince took his sword and cut his long hair, donned simple clothes, took a begging bowl and asked Channa to go back with Kanthaka. Colophons: (1) Folio 30 on the recto side: Chunlasangkat one hundred and 403 (corresponding with CS 1143), a huang pao year, on the ninth day of the waxing moon of the third lunar month, Tuesday, the lucky day, a moeng pao day, the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng laeng (between 13.30–15.00 o’clock). Thao (Mr) Sao had the religious faith in the Teachings of the Buddha to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Nyòttaiphidok (Peak of the Three baskets) to support the Teaching of the Buddha. Nibbāna paccayo hotu dhuvaṃ niccaṃ dhuvaṃ dhuvaṃ (May this be a condition for Nirvana, certainly and constantly). (2) Folio 31 on the recto side: Buddhist Era 1214 (This might be CS 1214), a tao chai year, on the thirteenth day of the waning moon of the fifth lunar month, the fourth day of the week (Wednesday), a ka mao day, the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng ngai (between 7.30–9.00 o’clock). This Bunma and his wife had the most ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled 84 thousand catagories to support the Teaching of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. Nibbānaṃ paramaṃ sukhaṃ (Nirvana is the greatest bliss).
