On one occasion, while residing at the Jetavana monastery in Savatthi, the Buddha preached a sermon to the monks on the rewards derived from making the wax flags to worship the Triple Gem. The Buddha told the story of his previous existence when he was the Bodhisatta and performed Dāna pāramī (The perfection of giving). Once upon a time, Opphainyarat who was the younger brother of the Bodhisatta had the religious faith and made a wax flag and offered it to the Bodhisatta in order to worship the Triple Gem. The results of the merit supported the Bodhisatta to have attained enlightenment and become the Buddha and Opphainyarat was reborn as a great king who had a lot of servants more than the peoples in tha Jambudipa. May I be free from all diseases. May I have a chance to give the gift through the future to last until the end of my life. On the other hand, when my five aggregates has extinguished, may I be born in the crystal city that is Nirvana, definitely.
