The chronicle of Doi Tao Mount. The text tells about in the Buddha’s time, the Buddha accompanied with his 500 disciples including Ananda Thera travelled to a hill named Doi Tao where the hair relics of the previous Buddhas had been installed. There the Buddha delivered a sermon to giants, the four heavenly kings, devas and Indra. Later King Asoka built the pagoda to protect the hair relics. In Buddhist Era 800, there were a bhikkhu and a devoted girl named Sutsada who had the religious faith, together took care of the hair relics. They also made a Buddha statue of emerald. This made the people misunderstood and accused them having sexual misconduct. Even though it was not true, but Sutsada was killed by a head district of the village. Colophon: Folio 19 on the recto side: Chunlasangkat (CS) 1282, a kot san year, on the second day of the waxing moon of the first lunar month, the first day of the week (Sunday), the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng ngai (between 7.30–9.00 o’clock).
