In the Buddha’s time, there was an old man who offered seven cucumbers to the Buddha. After having eaten the cucumber, he made a smile. Venerable Anada then asked the reason why the Buddha smiled. The Buddha said that the old man who gave me the cucumbers would become Dhammikaraja (the great righteous king). When the Teaching of the Buddha goes to 3000 years, the man would be born in a poor family because he stepped on the Buddha’s shadow. When he is born, he will have an ugly figure, but he will have a beautiful figure later due to the results of offering the cucumbers to the Buddha. After the death from that existence, he will travel in the cycle of rebirths for many existences and then he will be born in the city of Kapila. Colophon: Folio 11 on the verso side: Chunlasangkat 1928 (possibility is AD 1928), a hwai nyi year (apoek si year), on the twelfth day of the waxing moon of the tenth lunar month, a kot sai day, the sixth day of the week (Friday). Chao Mom (Monk) Bunma had the religious faith to sponsor the making of these manuscripts entitled Nithan Chanthaphanit, Nithan Phanya Thammikarat and Nithat Pakhalakkhane to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May this be a condition for us to reach Nibbāna. Chao Mom (Monk) Suk is the scribe to support Gotama Buddha to last until entering Nibbāna definitely.
