ເນື້ອໃນກ່າວເຖິງ ໃນສະໄໝພຸດທະການ ມີພິກຂຸອົງໜຶ່ງໄດ້ເຂົ້າໄປປະຕິບັດທໍາກໍາມັດຖານຢູ່ປ່າແຫ່ງໜຶ່ງໃກ້ກັບວັດເຊຕະວັນ. ຄັ້ງນັ້ນ ຍັງມີອຸບາສົກຜູ້ມີສັດທາຜູ້ໜຶ່ງຢູ່ໃກ້ບໍລິເວນປ່າແຫ່ງນັ້ນ ເມື່ອໄດ້ເຫັນພິກຂຸອົງນັ້ນເມດຕາພາວະນາຢູ່ ກໍເກີດຄວາມເຫຼື້ອມໃສ ຈຶ່ງໄດ້ນໍາເອົາເຄື່ອງອັດຖະບໍລິຂານມາຖວາຍໃຫ້ແກ່ພິກຂຸ ແລະໄດ້ກ່າວຄໍາຖວາຍທານວ່າ “ຂ້າພະເຈົ້າຂໍຖວາຍອັດຖະບໍລິຂານເຫຼົ່ານີ້ແກ່ພິກຂຸສົງ”. ພິກຂຸຕົນນັ້ນ ກໍ່ເກີດຄວາມສົງໄສວ່າ ເຮົາຢູ່ຄົນດຽວ ແຕ່ອຸບາສົກຜູ້ນັ້ນກ່າວວ່າ ທານໃຫ້ສົງ. ຄັ້ນເມື່ອຕົກກາງຄືນ ກໍມີເທວະດາຕົນໜຶ່ງ ໄດ້ມາຖາມບັນຫາ ໓ ປະການກັບພະພິກຂຸອົງນັ້ນ ແລະວ່າ ຖ້າທ່ານຕອບບໍ່ໄດ້ໃຫ້ໄປຖາມພະພຸດທະເຈົ້າ ແຕ່ຖ້າບໍ່ແກ້ກໍ່ຈັກຈິບຫາຍ. ເມື່ອວັນຮຸ່ງຂຶ້ນ ພິກຂຸຕົນນັ້ນ ຈຶ່ງເຂົ້າເຝົ້າພະພຸດທະເຈົ້າທີ່ວັດເຊຕະວັນ ໄດ້ທູນເລົ່າເຫດການທັງສອງຢ່າງນັ້ນໃຫ້ພະພຸດທະອົງຊົງຊາບ ແລະຂໍໃຫ້ພະພຸດທະເຈົ້າເມດຕາແກ້ໄຂຄວາມສົງໄສແລະຕອບປັນຫາຂອງເທວະດານັ້ນ. ຄໍາລົງທ້າຍ: ລານທີ່ ໒໙ ໜ້າ ໑: ສັງກາດຣາຊະໄດ້ ໒໔໗໔ ປີ[ກົດ]ສະງ້າ ເດືອນ ໘ ແຮມ ໘ ຄໍ່າ ວັນ ໑ ຍາມກອງງາຍ ໝາຍມີ ແມ່ອອກເປັ້ງ ບ້ານເທິງວັດໃໝ່ ແລະລູກເຕົ້າຊູ່ຄົນ ຈິ່ງມີໃຈໃສສັດທາ ສ້າງໜັງສືເທວະທູດຕະສູດ ໄວ້ກັບສາສະໜາ ຕາບຕໍ່ເທົ້າເຂົ້າສູ່ ນີຣະພານ ແດ່ກໍ່ຂ້າເທີ້ນ ສາທຸ ສາທຸ ອາຍຸ ວັນໂນ.
The text tells in the Buddha’s time, there was a monk practising meditation in the forest near the Jetavana monastery. At the time, there was a devout lay man lived in near the forest. When he saw the monk in serious practicing he was faithful in him. The man offered the monk with eight requisites. While offering, the man said, “I offered these eight requisites to the Sangha”. Hearing this, the monk had doubts, and thought that I am alone but this man said he offered to the Sangha”. At the night, an angel appeared and asked three questions to the monks. The angel said, “if you cannot answer, you should ask the Buddha, if you do not answer you will be ruined. In the coming morning the monk went to the presence of the Buddha at the Jetavana monastery. He told the Buddha the two events and asked the Buddha to explain him his doubts and the answers to the angel’s questions. Colophon: Folio 29 on the recto side: Sangkatrasa 2474, a [kot] sanga year, the eighth day of the waxing moon of the eighth lunar month, the first day of the week (Sunday), [the writing was accomplished] at the time of kòng ngai (between 7.30–9.00 o’clock). Mae-òk Peng from a house located above Vat Mai and her children had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript [entitled] Thevathuttasut, in order to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until attaining Nibbāna.
