The Dhammapada story of the miserly Kosiyasetthi. While residing at the Jetavana monastery, the Buddha spoke to the monks and lay Buddhista with reference to Venerable Maha Moggallana and the miserly rich man, Kosiya. Kosiya was a rich man in Rajgir, with treasure worth eighty crores, but never given away anything. One day, the millionaire wished to eat the pancake, but did not want to share it with anyone. So, he and his wife were making some pancakes in the uppermost seventh stroey of their house. The Buddha saw the rich man and his wife in his divine version and knew that both of them would soon attain Sotapatti Fruition. Therefore, he sent the Venerable to their house and inspired them to release the stinginess. Finally, the Venerable by his supernormal power, took both of the couple together with their basket of pancakes, to the presence of the Buudha. There, they offered the pancakes to the Buddha and the five hundred bhikkhus at the Jetavana monastery.
