The text tells about the observance of the five precepts, eight precepts and tenfold wholesome course of action. These who want to observe the precepts must set the minds intentionally and firmly. If you make a mistake in any of the precepts, it is considered that all the precepts are lost. The Lord Buddha preached a sermon to teach the four groups of Buddhist to behave in good ways, to be kind to one another, to be committed to giving alms, to be kind, and to be merciful, in order to be the protectors of us from going to any of the four hells. When we can maintain all the precepts without any defects, we will be pure and free from all hell. Colophon: Folio 30 on the recto side: Sangkatrasa (CS) 1288, a hwai nyi year, on the second day of the waning moon of the eleventh lunar month, Saturday, the writing was accomplished at the time of thae kai thiang (between 9.00–10.30 o’clock). Bhikkhu Manipannya had the ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Patchavekkhanasut, to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May all my wishes and desires come true. Nibbānaṃ paranaṃ sukhaṃ niccaṃ dhuvaṃ nibbānaṃ hotu me (Nibbāna is the greatest bliss constantly and certainly, may I reach Nirvana).
