Yamaka (Book on Pairs) is the sixth book of the Abhidhamma. Some of the content is written in Pali and some in Lao tells about the raising of the topics of the Dhamma to diagnose by asking and answering questions in pairs. The Dhamma in pairs consists of ten items as following: 1. Mūla Yamaka: Pairs on roots 2. Khandha Yamaka: Pairs on the 5 aggregates 3. Āyatana Yamaka: Pairs on the 12 bases 4. Dhātu Yamaka: Pairs on the 18 elements 5. Sacca Yamaka: Pairs on the 4 Truths 6. Saṅkhāra Yamaka: Pairs on the 3 formations 7. Anusaya Yamaka: Pairs on the 7 latent states 8. Citta Yamaka: Pairs on the 4 consciousness 9. Dhamma Yamaka: Pairs on the Dhamma of wholesome and unwholesome 10. Indriya Yamaka: Pairs on the 22 faculties. Colophon: Folio 36 on the recto side: In Chunlasangkat (CS) 1239, a moeng pao year on the thirteenth day of the waxing moon of the tenth lunar month, the fifth day of the week (Thursday), a hwai san day, the writing was accomplished at the time of tut sai kang van (between 12.00–13.30 o’clock). The initiator, Mae Thao (grandmother) Khamphio had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript [entitled] Aphithamma 7 khamphi (the seven books of Abhidhamma) to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May I reach the three states of happiness. Nibbāna paccayo hotu niccaṃ dhuvaṃ (May this be a condition to reach Nibbāna, constantly and certainly).
