After listening to the preaching of Abhidhamma from the Buddha, Venerable Sariputta also taught his 500 disciples by following the same way of the Buddha. The Venerable spent three months to complete the teaching. Because of these 500 monks, they have had this disposition in the past. In the time of Kassapa Buddha, these 500 monks were born as bats lived in a cave, listened to the chant of Abhidhamma recited by two monks. Even if they didn't understand it, but they listened intently because they likes the sound that was melodious. After the end of their lives, those bats were born as angels in heaven. In the time of Gotama Buddha, they were born as human beings, became monks and learned the Abhidhama from the Venerable Sariputta.
