Casamentos de Escravos, Forros e Livres, 1848-1879

The volume contains registries of marriages of enslaved, freed (forro) and free individuals registered in the church of Nossa Senhora de Capivari in Silva Jardim, Rio de Janeiro. Entries date from 14 June 1848 through 17 May 1879. There is no opening charter; the closing charter was signed on 20 January 1880 by Vicar Encomendado Domingos Corrêa d'Avila. The folios were rubriced by one Paiva. The volume mentions a pastoral visit by Francisco, the Bishop of Petropolis, that occurred in July 1890. Entries were signed by the following clergy: Vicar Balthazar (B.ar) Pr.e de Paiva, Comissioned Vicar Antonio (An.to) Pereira (Pr.a) dos Santos (S.tos), Pro Parocho Gabriel Evaristo de Oliveira (Oliv.a), Coadjutor Antonio (An.to) Pereira (Per.a) Fortunato, Comissioned Vicar Domingos Corrêa d'Avila.
