On one occasion the Buddha was staying near Vesālī, at the Gabled Hall in the Great Forest. And on that occasion Saccaka the Nigaṇṭha-son was dwelling in Vesālī – a debater who had a sharp intelligence and was famous because he learned the oratory from his father and mother until he became proficient and also studied the teachings of other religions until he was praised by the masses as having good knowledge. When Saccaka met the Buddha, the one who shines brightly, that is, wisdom, the Buddha had overcome Saccaka who had the intention to abandon honesty, and raised his words as high as a banner, and had a very dark heart, by delivering him a pleasing sermon. Finally, Saccaka became faithful in the Buddha and ordained as a monk in Buddhism. The initiator, Rattanapannya sponsored the making of this manuscript entitled Satchakasut (Saccaka Sutta) to dedicate to Phia Kammamungkhun, Thit Thi, Xiang Vand, and Xiang Phumma who already died to the other world. Even if they have been stuck in a misery place, may the results of this merit to move them to a good place. [Even if they are] already in a good place, may they be better than ever by one hundred and one hundred thousand times. Arahantī homi nibbāna paccayo honto no (May I obtain Arahantship. May this be a condition for us to reach Nirvana). May my desires and wishes come true.
