The text tells about the contemplation of passions that caused by the six external sense-fields. 1. Contemplation of passion through the visible objects tourching the eyes. 2. Contemplation of passion through the sound tourching the ears. 3. Contemplation of passion through the smell touching the nose. 4. Contemplation of passion through the taste tourching the tongue. 5. Contemplation of passion through the tangible objects tourching the body. 6. Contemplation of passion through the mind-objects tourching the mind. Colophon: Folio 34 on the recto side: Chunlasangkat 207 (corresponding with CS 1207), a hap sai year, the full moon day of the eighth lunar month, the sixth day of the week (Friday), a kap si day, the writing was accomplished at the time of tut sai (between 12.00–13.30 o’clock). Maha Somdet Akkhavorarasakhu Phumpannya had the religious faith to sponsor the making of these first four manuscripts entitled Satipatthan to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May this be a condition for us to reach Nibbāna.
