When Kalinga city had drought, the people were lacking water and food. They asked the king for help but the king could not make rain for them. The king sent eight brahmins to Videharat city to ask for the auspicious white elephant from King Sivijaya. When the elephant went away from Videharat city, the people got angry and banished Prince Sivijaya from the city.
