King Asoka allowed his son and daughter named Prince Mahinda and Princess Sanghamitta to be ordained as a bhikkhu and bhikkhuni in order to make him become a heir to Buddhism accordance with a monk’s advice. At the time, the king also had a nephew named Aggidattabrahm Kamara who wished to ordain as well. Therefore, the king allowed Prince Mahinda and Aggidatta ordained at the place of bhikkhua and Princess Sanghamitta ordained at the place of bhikkhuni where Upali Their was head.
