The content tells about the first three Buddhist Councils. The first Council was organized four months after the passing away of the Buddha, presided over by Venerable Maha Kassapa Thera and attended of 500 arahants, and supported by King Ajatasattu. The second Council was held 100 years after the passing away of the Buddha, presided over by Venerable Maha Yassa Kulaputta. The third Council was organized 218 years after the passing away of the Buddha, presided over by Venerable Maha Moggalliputta Thera and supported by King Asoka. After the third Council, Venerable Maha Moggalliputta Thera and King Asoka sent nine groups of missionary to spread the Buddha’s teachings in abroad through Asia.
