The short palm-leaft manuscript of the words of the Patimokkha text. That is the translation of the words in Pali of the Patimokkha text into Lao in the style of nissaya. This literal translation is for the understanding of the Patimokkha clearly. Colophons: (1) Folio 59 on the recto side: Sangkat (CS) 1248, a hwai set year, the thirteenth day of the waxing moon of the twelfth lunar month, the second day of the week (Monday), the writing was accomplished in the afternoon (between 13.30–15.00 o’clock). Chao Phanya Luang Müang Khua along with his wife and relatives had the most ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript [entitled] Sappatimok, to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May I obtain arahantship. May this be a condition for me to rach Nibbāna in the future. May we all attain arahatta-magga (the path of Arahantship) and arahatta-phala (fruition of Arahantship) in the time of Ariya Metteyya Buddha. Nibbāna is the greatest bliss. Iminā yānāni meyhaṃ āyantu uppajjhantu sapphasetthā. Anāgate kale visāraddo tikkhapañño. (2) Folio 59 on the verso side: Hua Chao Lek is the sponsor of the blank palm-leaves. Mae-òk Müang Khua is the sponsor who paid for the making of this manuscript. May wishes of mine come true. Nibbāna is the greatest bliss.
