Vinaya text on Paṃsukūlacīvara (rag-robes). At the time, the Buddha allowed monks to seek for the discarded-clothes from the charnel ground in the crematory forest and then dye the clothes to make for their yellow robes. This made the monks seeking for the clothes the crematory forest in large groups. Therefore, the monks were condemned and criticized by villagers. Thus, the Buddha allowed the devout villagers to make robes to offer the monks. When the villagers knew they brought many robes to the monks. When a number of the robes was increasing. The Buddha allowed the Sangha to appoint the monks who took responsible for receiving, keeping and distributing the robes.
