This manuscript contains two stories including sòng thungfai and sòng amisathan. Sòng thungfai means the rewards derived from making the cotton flags to worship the Triple Gem. The Buddha was dwelling at the Jetavana monastery in Savatthi gave a sermon on the rewards of making the cotton flags to worship the Triple Gem to King Pasenadi who came to the presence of the Buddha and asked him about this. Sòng amisathan means the rewards derived from giving material gifts. The Buddha was dwelling at the Gijjhakuta hill in Rajagaha gave a sermon on the rewards of giving the material gifts to King Bimbisara and his followers who came to the presence of the Buddha and asked him about this. Colophons: (1) Folio 17 on the recto side: Sangkat 2 thousand 2 hundred and 2 (corresponding with CS 1202), a huang pao year, a kap si day, the second day of the week (Monday). The writing of this manuscript was accomplished at the time of the kòng ngai (between 7.30-9.00 o'clock). Mae-òk Khao (a nun) Kuna had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript [entitled] Lam Sòng, to support the Teachings of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May this be a condition for us to reach Nibbāna certainly. (2) Folio 18 on the recto side: Sangkat 2 thousand 2 hundred and 2 (corresponding with CS 1202), a huang pao year, a kap si day, the second day of the week (Monday). The writing of this manuscript was accomplished at the time of the kòng ngai (between 7.30-9.00 o'clock). Mae-òk Khao Kuna had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript [entitled] Lam Sòng, to support the Teachings of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. Nibbāna is the greatest bliss.
