Lem Luang is used to preach a sermon depicting a king in Sri Lanka who had collected thousand manuscripts which were recorded the teachings of the previous four Buddhas from various places. Some manuscripts were brought from the sky kingdom by arahants. Anyone who has the faith to make a copy of this Lem luang or make worship to it will gain much merit innumerably. Indra will be kind of the person. Anyone who has a chance to listen to the Lem luang will gain merit. After death, the one will be reborn as great kings in the future lives. The person will be respected and beloved by people. Colophon: Folio 9 on the recto side: Buddhist Era (BE) 2516, a tao chai year, the seventh day of the waxing moon of the fifth lunar month, Monday, the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng ngai (between 7.30–9.00 o’clock). Achan Phan Phonphibun Theppha-akson, together with his wife Sao Phio and their children had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript [entitled] Lem luang, to support the Teachings of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May we all be released from future demerits and the results of previous bad deeds. May Nibbāna is our refuge. May this be a condition to reach Nibbāna. Amen, amen.
