Lem Luang is used to preach a sermon depicting a king in Sri Lanka who had collected thousand manuscripts which were recorded the teachings of the previous four Buddhas from various places. Some manuscripts were brought from the sky kingdom by arahants. Anyone who has the faith to make a copy of this Lem luang or make worship to it will gain much merit innumerably. Indra will be kind of the person. Anyone who has a chance to listen to the Lem luang will gain merit. After death, the one will be reborn as great kings in the future lives. The person will be respected and beloved by people. Colophon: Folio 6 on the verso side: In Sangkatrasa (CS) 1258, a hwai san year, on a kap set day, the thirteenth day of the waxing moon of the second lunar month, the seventh day of the week (Saturday), the writing was accomplished at the time of thae kai kham (between 15.00–16.30 o’clock). Chao Khanan Phothipannya had the ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript [entitled] Lemluang to support the Teachings of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May the results of this merit support me until I enter into Nirvana, definitely. Nibbāna paccayo hontu me niccaṃ dhuvaṃ dhuvaṃ (May this be a condition for me to reach Nibbāna, constantly and certainly).
