This volume contains letters written by the Governor of Sierra Leone between 21 May 1822 and 19 December 1823. Each letter written by the governor includes the date and the place it was written, and the signature of the sender. The last 20 pages of the volume include an index with the number of the despatch, the names of the persons who sent and received it, whether it contains enclosures, as well as a short summary of the content. The spine and the cover are damaged, and the binding is loose. The paper is brittle, and some pages are torn. There is extensive damage from iron gall.
