The volume contains cases brought before the Police Magistrate at the Police Court in Freetown between 5 December 1853 and 6 May 1864. The volume contains an index that lists the case by name of the defendant, and provides details on the offence and the page number in the volume. The recording of cases includes information on the date, the names of the plaintiff and the defendant, and the offence. Reference is also made to the oath of the constable, the plaintiff, the defendant, or witnesses. The volume includes information on sentencing. The report of a case varies from a couple lines to several pages. The volume is bound in blue cloth boards. There is extensive water damage, and some traces of damage from iron gall. The images are not arranged in the correct order.
