This inscription is found on the southern pillar of the sluice located on the southern part of the Vēkupaṭṭi village tank. The tank is called Vēkupaṭṭi Peruvaḷañcāṉ-kaṇmāi. This sluice was erected by the Arikēsari Muttaraiyaṉ. On the palaeographical ground, it could be dated to 9th century CE. வேகுப்பட்டி பெருவளஞ்சான் கண்மாயின் தெற்கு மடைத்தூணில் இக்கல்வெட்டு உள்ளது. குளத்தின் தெற்குப்பகுதியில் அமைந்துள்ள குமிழி குளத்தின் உள்ளே உள்ளது. இந்த குளம் வேகுப்பட்டி கிராமத்தை சார்ந்தது. இக்குமிழியை அரிகேசரி முத்தரையன் என்பவன் அமைத்ததாகக் கூறுகிறது. எழுத்தமைதியின் அடிப்படையில் இது பொ.ஆ. 9ஆம் நூற்றாண்டை சார்ந்ததாகும். கல்வெட்டு: ஸ்வஸ்தி ஸ்ரீ யாண்டு மு/ப்பத்தஞ்சாவது/இவ்வாண்டு இக்கு/ளத்தில் குமிழியு/ம் கற்காலும் மிண்/டகமும் கடையங்/க்கிணறும் செய்வித்/தான் அண்டங் கா/னப்பேராயின அரி/குலகேசரி முத்தரை/யனேன்.
