The sluice was erected in the tank called Periya-kaṇmāi of Rāsipuram village. The inscription is noticed on the western pillar of the sluice. The inscription refers to repair of one of the pillars called Maṇavāḷakkāl by Sēmaṉ belongs to Rājasiriyapuram of Mī-ceṅgilināḍu. It belongs to 13th century CE. Inscription: svasti srī mī ce/ṅkiḷi ṉāṭṭu/irāja[cc]riya/purattu kulumi/[mu]ḻu aḻivu . ./ ttu im maṇa/ vāḷak kallu/ceyvittā/ n cēmaṉ Location of original material: Rasipuram, Pudukkottai district, Tamil Nadu, India.
