After the report both accused entered a defense by their lawyers claiming that the irregularities were practiced by ther immediate boss who had resigned before the scandal was discovered.

Os acusados, o vendedor e o chefe de carteira de créditos e cobranças, respectivamente, teriam se apropriado do valor de 367.421,20 cruzeiros, recebidos dos clientes, alegando quantia menor ao repassar o recibo dentro da empresa. Após a denúncia ambos entraram com defesa de seus advogados alegando que as irregularidades eram praticadas pelo chefe imediato que havia se demitido antes que o escândalo fosse descoberto.
