The CMA-UFPA (Amazônia Memory Center) maintains custody of a historic collection at the Pará State Court of Justice (TJ-PA), which covers most of the lawsuits and court books in the Brazilian Amazônia. This collection includes records of marriages, inventories of crimes, notarial books of electoral minutes, wills and real estate records. The documental volume is 32 tons (1785-1970). The objective is to safeguard a portion of this collection composed of 8,401 documents that recovers the history of the occupation of the Amazônia territory, assisting in research and legal support for the fight against most vulnerable local peoples, especially Afro-Brazilians and Indigenous peoples.
