The famous love story of Prince Sisudhon and Manora. Long time ago, there was a richest kingdom named Pancaranagara, there lived a handsome young man name Prince Sudhon or Sisudhon. He was the only child of King Adhittayavong and Queen Chandhadhevi. The young prince was remarkable, handsome, intelligent, and kind. One day, Hunter Bun who was a famous hunter in the kingdom discovered the secret bathing pool used by seven Kinnari (girl with a beautiful half-woman and half-swan) who were the daughters of King Tumerat. One of the seven Kinnari named Manora. The hunter caught Manora with a snare and brought her to Prince Sisudhon. When they met each other they had immediately fallen in love. Colophon: Folio 40 on the recto side: Sisumangkhala Sangkatrasa (CS) 1290, a kat mao year, on the second day of the waxing moon of the first lunar month, the fifth day of the week (Thursday), the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng ngai (between 7.30–9.00 o’clock). The initiator, Sao Phio sponsored the making of this manuscript [entitled] 50 Sāt Suton (Sisuthon, one of fifty former existences of the Buddha), to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years.
