Rewards derived from making the sandy flag to worship the Triple Gem. On one occasion, the Buddha was residing at the Jetavana monastery in Savatthi. At the time, King Pasenadi went out to the sandy beach on the river bank. He saw the smooth, clean white sand. The king made the flags of sand. When successful, he put the flowers and lighted candles to worship the Triple Gem. The king then went to the presence of the Buddha and asked him about the rewards derived from making the sandy flags to worship the Triple Gem. The Buddha gave a sermon saying that your majesty, those who have faith and made the sandy flags to worship the Triple Gem would not go to hells. After death from the human world they will be reborn in Tavatimsa heaven enjoying the divine properties. After the heaven they will be reborn in the world and will become wealthy, honour and with many servants.
