Govinda Sutta, discourse on Mahā Govinda Brahmin. On one occasion, the Buddha was staying at Gijjhakuta hill in Rajagha. Pancasikha of the gandhabbas approached the Buddha and tell the story of what he had seen from the angels in Tavatimsa in the meeting called Sudhammasabhā. Sakka (Indra) described the 8 virtues of the Buddha and Sanaṅkumāra Brahma also told the story of Sotipāra who was the son of Govinda Brahmin, the priest of King Disampati, who was appointed as a priest in stead of his father, and followed his father's way until he was dubbed Mahā Govinda Brahmin. Later, he became an ascetic practicing chastity; he was respected by all people, and was a king of all kings, a brahma of all Brahmins, and a god of the nobles. When Pancasikha was finished, the Buddha said that he himself had become Mahā Govinda Brahmin at that time. But at that time, he instructed his disciples to live together with brahmas, but in this life he instructs the 8 nobles paths that would lead to Nirvana.
