On one occasion, while the Buddha was staying at Gijjakuta hill (Vulture Peak) in Rajgir. A god named Panchasikha who was bright with halo, came from Catummahajika heaven presented at the Buddha at the mid night. The god questioned the Buddha about why the deities in Tavatimsa heaven assembled at the Dhamma hall on the full day of the end of the Buddhist Lent. Then the Buddha answered the question to the god clearly. Colophon: Folio 28 on the recto side: Chunlasangkatrasa (CS) 1294, a tao san year, on the fourth day of the waxing moon of the eighth lunar month, the fourth day of the week (Wednesday), the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng ngai (between 7.30–9.00 o’clock). Rattanapannya sponsored the making of this manuscript entitled Khovinthasut (Govinda Sutta) to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May the results of this merit be a condition for Nirvana and cut the five obstructions off and reach Nirvana as my wishes. Arahantī homi nibbāna paccayo honto no niccaṃ dhuvaṃ paramaṃ sukhaṃ (May I obtain Arahantship. May this be a condition for us to reach Nirvana, constantly and certainly, the greatest bliss).
