The content tells the story of Gotama Buddha, from the time he was Prince Siddhartha, married to Princess Bimba or Yasodhara, became an ascetic, spent six years in practice, he attained Buddhahood, he spread Buddhism and helped all beings for 45 years until he was 80 years old, and then he entered Nirvana in Kusinara. Colophons: (1) Folio 16 on the verso side: The writing was accomplished at the time of thae kai kham (between 15.00–16.30 o’clock). Dear alls. The manuscript of Phachao niphan contains 15 leaves. (2) Folio 17 on the recto and verso sides: Chunlasangkatrasa 12 hundred and 87 (corresponding with CS 1287), a kap chai year, on the sixth day of the waxing moon of the fifth lunar month, the sixth day of the week (Friday), the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng thiang (between 10.30–12.00 o’clock). Novice Suk from Nakham village together with his lay mother, sisters, brothers, all siblings and relatives had the pleasure in Buddhism to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Phachao Niphan (the Buddha passed away) to support the Teachings of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May the results of this merit support my father named Saen Sitha and my elder sister named Lek, who already died. May both of them reach the three states of happiness with Nirvana as the ultimate goal. May my wishes not be ignored. May all of us enter into Nirvana, may our wishes not be ignored, definitely. May this be a condition for us to reach Nirvana. May we meet in person Ariya Metteyya who will come in the future, certainly. Sitthapannya or Novice Suk is the scribe. My hand was rough as I did not touch a breast of girl, as I was ordained in younghood.
